Lead Accountant – Transport Division
Location: Sano Bharyang
A Lead Accountant in the Transport Division, reporting to the AVP – Accounts and Finance, plays a critical role in managing financial operations specific to the transportation division and its branches.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounting: Maintain accurate accounting records for all 9 branches, ensuring consistency in reporting and compliance.
- Revenue Management: Track and reconcile revenue from transport services across branches, ensuring accurate invoicing and timely recognition of income.
- Balance Confirmation: Conduct periodic balance confirmations with vendors and customers across branches to ensure financial accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Accounts Receivable & Collection: Monitor outstanding payments, follow up on overdue invoices, and implement collection strategies to maintain cash flow.
- Expense Tracking: Monitor costs associated with hired vehicles, including rental fees, first & mid-mile expenses of all the branches.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure proper VAT (Input, Output) /Reverse VAT and TDS deductions, maintain records, and submit tax filings by regulatory requirements.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare business segment and branch-wise financial statements and reports for the AVP, highlighting revenue trends, cost efficiency, and operational expenses across branches.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in budgeting for the transport division, analyzing cost trends, and recommending cost-saving measures across all locations.
- Audit & Internal Controls: Support audits by maintaining accurate records of expenses, revenue transactions, and tax compliance across branches.
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline financial workflows related to vehicle hiring, revenue tracking, and vendor management across multiple locations.
- Branch Coordination: Work closely with branch managers to ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Technical Skills
- MS Office: Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and other productivity tools.
- Education: Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience: Prior experience in transport or logistics, accounting, or allied industry.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication.
