I don’t remember my mother’s face. She left when I was just one year old. By five, I was near Pashupatinath collecting discarded items just to eat. Hunger, hard work, and protecting myself became part of my childhood.

There was a time when the pain felt unbearable. I almost gave up.

But I didn’t.

I chose to believe my life had value. Years later, Upaya gave me an opportunity to work in a culture of respect, a place where my strength matters more than my past.
