How Nepal’s Leading Logistics Company Grew 5x in One Year: Upaya’s FY 2082/83 Review

Every year leaves its mark, but the last Nepali fiscal year 2082/83 has been different for Upaya, a logistics company in Nepal built to serve online sellers nationwide. It’s the year we stopped scaling incrementally and started scaling exponentially. We grew in reach, in people, and in the kind of impact we set out to create when we started this journey: building a stronger, more inclusive logistics backbone for Nepal.

It happened together with our growing team, our delivery partners, our vendor community, and every entrepreneur who trusted us to get their product to a customer’s doorstep.

How This Logistics Company in Nepal Grew Its Network 5x

We started the year with 80 branches. We’re ending it with 400+ branches nationwide, which is a fivefold expansion that puts Upaya’s reach into corners of Nepal that were, not long ago, logistically out of reach for online sellers. Few, if any, logistics companies in Nepal have expanded this fast in a single fiscal year.

More branches means more than just coverage on a map. It means shorter delivery times, more reliable door-to-door delivery service, and a real, physical presence in communities that are increasingly buying and selling online.

Upaya's Team That Grew Nearly 4x

Behind every one of those branches is a person, not just one, but several people. Our team has grown from 380 to over 1,500 people, a testament to how much operational muscle it takes to keep pace with Nepal’s booming e-commerce sector.

We’re especially proud that this growth hasn’t just been about headcount. It’s been about who gets to be part of building Nepal’s logistics future.

Upaya's 195% Growth in Our Female Workforce

Logistics has traditionally been a male-dominated field in Nepal, but that’s not the industry we want to help build. This year, our female workforce grew by 195%. Nearly tripling it across roles in operations, delivery, and management.

This wasn’t accidental. It reflects an intended push to make logistics a viable, respected career path for women across the country, and we see it as one of the most meaningful numbers on this list.

381% Growth in Total Deliveries of Upaya

At the core of everything we do is a simple promise: get the package to its location, reliably. This year, total deliveries grew by 381%, a number that reflects both the explosive growth of online selling in Nepal and the trust vendors have placed in Upaya to handle that growth.

Upaya is Empowering 5,000+ Entrepreneurs

Numbers like branches and deliveries tell you about scale. This number tells you why the scale matters.

This year, Upaya supported over 5,000 entrepreneurs in growing their businesses, of which 65% are female-led. Behind every one of these businesses is someone who took a risk, built something from scratch, and needed a logistics partner they could depend on to reach their customers. Supporting that, especially for women entrepreneurs who often face barriers to entry in the market is exactly the kind of impact we set out to make.

Nepal's First 3PL Warehouse

Growth isn’t just about looking back; it’s about what’s possible next. We’re proud to announce that Upaya is building Nepal’s first third-party logistics (3PL) warehouse, which will be operational in early 2027.

This is a major step forward for Nepal’s e-commerce ecosystem. A dedicated 3PL warehouse means online sellers from small entrepreneurs to growing brands will be able to outsource storage, inventory management, and order fulfillment to Upaya, freeing them up to focus on what they do best: growing their business. It’s the infrastructure Nepal’s online economy has needed for a long time, and we’re proud to be the ones building it.

The Year Ahead For Upaya: The Logistics Company in Nepal

Fiscal year 2082/83 was a year of proving what’s possible when a growing network, a dedicated team, and thousands of ambitious entrepreneurs work toward the same goal. As we look to 2083/84, we’re not slowing down. We are building on this momentum, starting with Nepal’s first 3PL warehouse and continuing to expand access to reliable logistics for every seller, everywhere in Nepal.

This is what it looks like when a logistics company in Nepal grows with intention, not just scale

To everyone who’s been part of this: our team, our partners, and the entrepreneurs who trust us with their businesses. Thank you. Here’s to the next chapter.
