Risk and Compliance Officer

Location: Upaya Head Office, Thapagau

Contract Management

• Draft contracts according to the company’s needs, ensuring all terms and conditions align with legal requirements and organizational policies.
• Review contracts from vendors, clients, and other third parties to identify potential risks, ambiguous clauses, or non-compliant provisions.
• Draft and Review rent agreement for other branches according to the requirement.
• Maintain a control sheet of all contracts and track renewal/termination timelines.

Regulatory Compliance

• Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Develop and implement compliance policies, procedures, and controls.
• Keep the organization updated on changes in relevant laws and regulations.

Policy Drafting and Implementation

• Draft, review, and update internal policies to align with regulatory requirements.
• Ensure organizational policies are effectively communicated and implemented across all departments.

Crisis Management

• Provide legal and compliance support during crises that may occur during conducting operations of the company

Other Legal Documentation

• Draft and review various other legal documents, including legal notices, declarations, and formal letters and maintain a repository in the department.

Engaging with concerned stakeholders

• Act as the point of contact for shareholders, investors, and other stakeholders and handle any questions and queries from the stakeholders.
• Manage Events in coordination with the company and shareholders

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (BA.LLB) or related field, along with a license to practice law in Nepal.
• Prior work experience in corporate legal departments or compliance teams, preferably 1-2 years of work experience.
• Strong understanding of commercial law and regulatory frameworks.
• Proficiency in both English and Nepali typing (mandatory)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Nepali.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
