Specialist - Accounts

Job Description

  1. Financial Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records by recording and verifying financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  2. Reconciliation and Analysis: Conduct regular reconciliations of accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies. Perform financial analysis and generate reports to support management decision-making.
  3. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process vendor invoices, verify expense claims, and manage payments. Monitor customer accounts, generate invoices, and follow up on outstanding receivables.
  4. Month-End and Year-End Closing: Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and generating financial statements.
  5. Financial Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and budgets.
  6. Compliance and Audit: Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies. Support internal and external audit processes.
  7. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and sales, to gather financial information and provide support as needed. Communicate effectively with stakeholders on financial matters.
  8. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement efficient and effective accounting procedures. Contribute to the development and enhancement of financial controls and systems.

Job Specification

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience working in an accounting or finance role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite (particularly Excel).
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial analysis tools is a plus.
